The San Diego Padres’ Ha-Sung Kim made the most of his leadoff role with a multi-hit game and a stolen base.
Starting at first base and batting second against the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2023 Major League Baseball (MLB) Baseball World Series at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the San Diego Padres went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base to complete a multi-hit game.
메이저놀이터 Kim fulfilled his role as a leadoff hitter, drawing walks in the third and fifth innings. After drawing a walk with the bases loaded in the fifth, he stole second base in the next at-bat to record his 29th stolen base of the season.

Kim didn’t produce a hit, but he picked off two balls and used his quick feet to steal his 29th base of the season. He advanced to third on a throwing error by catcher William Contreras. However, he was unable to score as he was stranded at third.
He was stranded thereafter. After being stranded at second and third in the seventh on a strikeout, Kim was stranded at second and first in the ninth on a grounder to the third baseman. Kim’s season batting average dropped slightly from .280 to .278.
San Diego lost to Milwaukee, 7-3. After taking a 2-0 lead in the third inning on Contreras’ RBI single and Willy Adames’ RBI double, Milwaukee broke through with a five-run big inning capped by a three-run homer by Raulie Tellez.

San Diego had runners on first and third in the bottom of the seventh, down 5-1, but Trent Grisham and Ha-Sung Kim struck out in succession to end the threat. After giving up two runs in the bottom of the seventh, San Diego rallied with a two-run homer by Gary Sanchez in the top of the ninth, but that was it.
