Arsenal’s Takehiro Tomiyasu is attracting interest from Inter Milan.
Arsenal were successful last season. Last season was a successful one for Arsenal. After once failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League (UCL), the Gunners improved last season as Arteta’s tactics began to click.
온라인바카라A big part of that was the team spirit, especially among the younger players. Captain Martin Ødegaard spearheaded the attack with the likes of Boukayo Sakho and Gabriel Martinelli, while the defense was made up of youngsters like William Saliba.
The transfer market was also a success. Arteta brought in Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City in the summer transfer window to bolster the striker position and left back position.
The Gunners have been winning. Arsenal led the league through the early and mid-season. They were occasionally challenged by Man City, but they steadily racked up points and consolidated their lead. While they were still slipping up in games they should have won, they were making fewer mistakes and were getting closer to their dream of winning the league for the first time in 19 years. However, they finished the season in second place, losing out to Manchester City at the last minute.
Despite missing out on the title, Arsenal’s performance deserves to be applauded. Arteta’s tactics were fully in place, and there was more stability in the backline. The center-back pairing of Gabriel Magalhaes and William Saliba, and the partnership of Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko at both full-backs, shone.
But there was one man who wasn’t smiling in Arsenal’s favor. Tomiyasu. Tomiyasu has lived with injuries at Arsenal. Last season, he competed with White for the right-back spot, but was gradually pushed aside in favor of White, and was only occasionally used as a backup. Then, in the second half of the season, he suffered a knee injury that has kept him out of action since March.
A scan revealed a right knee injury. Arsenal said in a club statement: “Tomiyas underwent surgery in London on Tuesday and will be out for the rest of the season. Everyone at the club will work with him to ensure that he is able to join pre-season training for next season.”
While Tomiyasu is preparing to make a comeback next season, he was recently linked with a loan move to Inter Milan. According to Italy’s Gazzetta dello Sport, “The Inter Milan board’s current favorite name is Arsenal’s Tomiyasu. Tomiyasu is not a ‘non-saleable’ resource at Arsenal and is a target of interest for Inter Milan. Inter Milan want to sign him on loan.” It will be interesting to see if Tomiyas can find a way out after his repeated misfortunes at Arsenal.
